Looks like we're going to Maui again

We're making plans to go to Maui again this coming April (approximately April, 7th thru June, 3rd, give or take a day or so.

This spring we are going to have Matt, Adam and Jennifer come for a stay. We need to solidify dates with them.

We anticipating company, spread-out, 7 days company, several days no company; 7 days company, several days break; and, so on. That'll give us the opportunity for about 3 or 4 guest times in addition to the "kids". We'll have a more definitive schedule next month.

Let us know of your interest and general times you'd prefer.

Remember, all it cost you is airfare, contributions to food and drink and some gas for the Cruz'r. OK, you'll want to buy some baubles, trinkets, and whatnots. Still a bargan and we'll have great times too.

The Inn at Goose Creek

Our great friends Gary and Ulwa Mabee own the Inn at Goose Creek in Ellensberg, WA, a ten room boutique hotel.

Great place to stop on your way to or somewhere; or, for a base while exploring the Ellensberg, Yakima and Cle Elum areas.

Wonderful for a little romantic intermission in life.

You'll love it. We just go to get away.

Gary and Ulwa are Innkeepers in the traditional sense.

Visit them at Inn at Goose Creek.

Adam's new "squeeze"

Adam, after several years in the relationship wilderness, has met a really wonderful lady, Jennifer.

Jennifer is great:
  • Humorous
  • Very pretty
  • Creative
  • Funny
  • Fun loving
  • Spontaneous
  • Normal
  • Has great family (we have reason to believe)
  • Appears to have no criminal background (not that we've checked) Not on 10 most wanted anyhow
  • Good job (Microsoft) promoting video games
  • No visible tattoo's, no multiple body piercings (we are assured)
  • Well traveled
  • Graduate in Journalism
  • May be moderate something politically, but haven't asked
  • Gives every indication of really liking Adam (and, vice-versa)
  • Overall, maybe way to good for Adam (Just kidding!)
We can hardly wait to introduce Jennifer to all of you.

We're back from Maui

We had a great time in Maui:
  • Sarah and Andrew shared their honeymoon with us (sort of).

  • Then there was Jane and Clark Bowen and their son, Chris and his girl friend, Sammy. What a hoot!

  • Then there's our new neighbors (M207). Donna and Thom Estes. Very enjoyable folks.

  • And, finally I've discovered my dream Maui Cruz'r. The grass skirt is such a nice touch. Driven by my kin a wahine too.
We had a great time. Sarah and Andrew shared their honeymoon with us (At least part of it).

We have new neighbors in Maui, Tom and Donna Estes, in M207. Great fun people from Colorado.

Also, found the ultimate "Maui Cruz'r".

David and Dixon Smith Treasures

Carolyn's cousins, David and Dixon Smith, are immersed in the restoration of high performance automobiles and unlimited hydroplanes. They were gracious in bring examples of each to Emerald Heights, Susie's retirement community.

Each gave informative and entertaining talks.

The car (David's) is a circa 1947 Alfa Romero. This an all out race car, raced in the LeMan's 24 hour race. It is one of two still in existence. The restoration is beautiful.

The hydroplane is the Miss Bardahl, winner of National Championship in 1963, 1964 and 1965. Dixon headed up the team restoring it to it's glory days. The boat has been and will be run in exhibition races. Dixon and David earned college tuition and spending money crewing on this boat. Truly a labor of love. Dixon is still quite active in the unlimited racing as a consultant to race teams. His son, Ryan, is continuing the family tradition.

Just got back from trip around Washington and Oregon. Thanks to all for making it so pleasant.

We recommend a look at Central Oregon - beautiful-sunny-low living cost (at least outside of Bend) a real treat.

Enjoyed car show at Sun River Resort. Mostly Porsche's, Lamborgini's, Ferrari's, BMW's.

The rock formation is "Smith Rock" on the Crooked River. Famous rock climbing venue.
